The excitement for the FIFA World Cup 26™ continues to build as FIFA officially unveils TRIONDA, the adidas-designed Official Match Ball for the upcoming global tournament.
According to FIFA.com, the ball’s name TRIONDA — meaning “three waves” in Spanish — symbolizes the historic unity of the three host nations: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Its vibrant red, green, and blue color palette pays homage to each country, while a new four-panel aerodynamic design enhances stability and control in flight.
Each panel connects to form a triangular motif at the ball’s core, representing the shared spirit of the hosts. Iconic national emblems — the maple leaf for Canada, an eagle for Mexico, and a star for the United States — feature prominently, alongside golden details inspired by the FIFA World Cup Trophy.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the new design, saying:
“The Official Match Ball for the FIFA World Cup 26 is here and it’s a beauty! adidas have created another iconic ball, embodying the unity and passion of our host nations.”
Beyond its visual appeal, TRIONDA integrates connected ball technology, featuring a 500Hz motion sensor that tracks every movement in real time. This system provides data to VAR officials, improving accuracy in offside and match analysis decisions.
The launch of TRIONDA marks another milestone in the countdown to the 23rd FIFA World Cup, following the introduction of official mascots and FIFA’s initiative to donate $1 to the Global Citizen Education Fund for every ticket sold.
As FIFA’s global showpiece draws closer — with the Final Draw set for 5 December 2025 in Washington, D.C. — the world’s anticipation for this unprecedented tri-nation World Cup continues to rise.
