Record-Breaking Queens: Bayern Women Dominate Nürnberg to Make History

In a clinical display of footballing prowess, FC Bayern Women secured a 2-0 victory against 1. FC Nürnberg at the FC Bayern Campus. This wasn't just another win; it was the 18th consecutive victory in the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga, setting a legendary new club record and extending their lead at the top to 14 points.

A Powerful Stand: Red Against Racism

The match began with a significance that transcended the scoreboard. Under the banner of "Rot gegen Rassismus" (Red against Racism), both squads stood united. President Herbert Hainer emphasized that diversity and respect are the core values of the club, making the pre-match ceremony a moving tribute to inclusion in sports.

Breaking the Deadlock: The Fortunate Opener

The first half was a tactical chess match. Nürnberg’s "defensive bus" held firm until the 46th minute. Immediately after the restart, the pressure finally paid off. A defensive clearance from Nürnberg’s Lara Meroni took a lucky deflection off Edna Imade’s head and found the back of the net. While unconventional, it was the spark the record-holders needed to break the visitors' spirit.

Viggósdóttir’s Milestone and The Final Blow

The afternoon was also a celebration of loyalty, as Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir marked her 150th appearance for the Munich side. She nearly celebrated with a goal, twice hitting the crossbar with thunderous headers. However, the definitive moment came in the 80th minute. Following a masterclass assist from Barbara Dunst, Natalia Padilla Bidas clinical finish from close range sealed the 2-0 victory and the three points.
